Environment: On a high point in the prairie. View to north and east is obscured by a low ridge but visibility to south and west is excellent. Chin Coulee is a short distance south. The dugout pound sites is a low area with grasses and brush being dominant in the area.
Condition: Portion of original site destroyed because of enlarging dugout for cattle. Areas of camp site bone processing are still intact. Area receives heavy erosional damage due to water and cattle.

History: In 1963 Forbis Trent did some testing which proved successful then in 1964 more extensive tests were undertaken by Reeves Forbis.
This is virtually the only well defined Early Man occupation of this size located to date in the province.

On the banks of the dugout. Dyck has found several classic examples of Scotsbluff and related types of points in the Plan tradition.
There appear to be two cultural layers, the lower one probably yielding the Plano points.
